Greetings from the Superintendent of schools!   I would like to extend to you a most gracious welcome to our website, and hope that you find the information here as exciting as we do.  Many great things are happening in WISD as we look to continually move toward the vision of maximizing the education of every student.

Being a recognized district, with six gold performance acknowledgements, affords us an outstanding foundation from which we can become the district of choice in the State of Texas.  Woden ISD has undertaken many new initiatives to ensure that we can address the ever changing demands that the global economy places on our graduates.

No change that has been made has been left to chance. Every new initiative undertaken by the district has been scrutinized by research and best practices of scholars and practitioners in the field.  The collaboration and planning have not relied on luck but on calculated action to ensure that we are making the progress that each child in our district deserves. 

Accordingly, Woden ISD will focus on:

• Promoting a safe, orderly learning environment.
• The design and delivery of instruction that uses data to make instructional decisions in a professional learning community of educators which engages students explicitly through the modalities of technology.
• Preparing students for career and college readiness.
• Recruiting, developing, and retaining highly qualified employees that focus on the needs of students.
• Alignment of all district systems and departments to achieve the goals of our district.

In this endeavor, I'm not only the Superintendent, but a parent as well.  We need all stakeholders to be on the same team in order to meet the needs of our students and attain our vision.
