Scholarship Information

 As scholarship information arrives, I will post to this website and place copies of applications outside the counseling office.  Most scholarships will not arrive until after Christmas, but there are many ways to search for scholarships.  Certain college websites provide scholarship information.  Check with the college you are planning to attend to get more information.  

As you apply to colleges, also apply for their scholarships!

                                                                   Pay close attention to scholarship DEADLINES!

Check out the following websites for general scholarship information:

Woden PTO Scholarships:  See Mrs. Howard in the High School office for an application if your parent is a member of the PTO. 

Nacogdoches County Republican Women's Scholarships:  Applicant must be a resident of Nacogdoches County and a current High School Senior.  Essay is required for application.  Pick up the application and essay topic in the High School office.   

Zumper Apartments Scholarship:  Follow the link for more information.

Voice of Democracy Scholarship:  Audio Essay Competition.  Open to any 9-12th grade student.  Pick up the application and essay topic in the High School office.  ** Deadline is Nov 1st!**

Future Lumberjacks:  Once you have been accepted to SFA, you can apply for many scholarships by clicking on the following tabs: mySFA, Biling, Financial Aid, Future Lumberjacks.  

Visionary Scholarship:  $1,000-$5,000 from the American College Foundation.  Requires a 500 word essay.                                    To apply visit

Marsha Martin Scholarship:  Must be a member of FFA or 4-H.  Must be planning to pursue an agriculture-related college degree.  Pick up an application in the high school office or visit

Jack Kent Cooke Scholarship:  Up to $40,000 per year to attend a 4-year school .  Click the following link to apply:

Hispanic Heritage Scholarship:  Up to $1,500 Grand Prize Scholarship...Altice USA student essay competition.  Come by the office for the details.

East Texas Professional Credit Union McLauchlin Scholarship: $2000 Must have a family member that is a member of the credit union and you must be pursuing a major in Education.  Come by the office for an application.

East Texas Professional Credit Union Presidential Scholarship:  $1000 Must have a family member that is a member of the credit union.  Come by the office for an application.  

Texas Engineering Foundation Scholarship: Must be an engineering major and plan to attend an ABET accredited university.  Come by the counseling office for details. 

GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program:  Up to $10,000 for college-bound students who excel in leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship.  Visit for more information.  

National Beta Club Scholarship:  $1.000-$15,000 for 12th grade Beta members.   Must apply between Nov 1 and January 26.  To apply visit

AED Scholarship: $1000

Lawnstarter Scholarship:  $1000 open to all seniors planning to enroll in a 2 year, 4 year, or graduate program and passsionate about entrepreneurship.  Send a transcript, resume, and 500-700 word essay answering the following prompt, "What makes you passionate about building a buisness?"

Why I love my school Scholarship:  $500.  Visit the following website for information:

Daughters of the Republic of Texas Scholarship:  $1,000 awarded.  Must be able to prove lineage information for three generations.  Come by the office for a copy of the application.

Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative Scholarship:  High School Seniors whose parent or guardian is an active member receiving service from Deep East Texas Electric Cooperative.  Pick up application in counselor's office.  Deadline is March 1st.

Deep East Texas Lineman Scholarship:  High School senior pursuing a career as a Lineman.  Pick up application in counselor's office.  Deadline is May 1st.  Full tuition to Kilgore College's Electric Power Technology Program.

General Scholarships:  General Scholarships are updated daily on Twitter, Facebook, and Instragram.  Follow @TFSscholarships.

Nacogdoches Jr. Forum Scholarships:  They are awarding scholarships in the following three categories:  Attending SFA, Community Service, and Special Circumstances/Financial Need.  See Mrs. Willis for an application.

Nacogdoches County Farm Bureau:  Parents must be a Nacogdoches County Farm Bureau member in good standing for at least one year.  Applications are in the counselor's office.

Nacogdoches County Board of REALTORS Scholarships:  They are awarding three $1000 scholarships.  Deadline is March 23rd.  Pick up application in the office.

State Farm Scholarship:

Nacogdoches Rotary Club Scholarship:  Deadline is March 24th.  Pick up an application in the office.

Nacogdoches Memorial Center Scholarship:  Deadline is April 13th.  Pick up an application in the office.

Wendy's Scholarship for Athletes:

Nacogdoches County Retired Teachers Association:  $500.  Deadline is April 10th.  Pick up an application in the office.

Concerned Black Men of Nacogdoches Scholarship:  $500.  Deadline is April 24th.  Pick up an application in the office.

Ford King Jr. Memorial Scholarship: $500.  Deadline is April 28th.  Pick up an application in the office.

ABODO Scholarship:  $500.

Badders Law Firm Scholarship:  $500.  Deadline is May 19th.  Pick up an application in the office.

East Texas Peace Officers Association Scholarship:  Pick up an application in the office.
