Testing

If you have not ever taken the ACT or SAT, or took it and want to try to score higher, NOW is the time to do it!! The colleges/universities you apply for will want these scores as part of your transcript and they are required for entrance! Research shows that most students who re-take one of these tests generally score several points higher than the previous test, so if you want to increase your score, sign up.

Our high school code is 447630.  You will need this number to register.

ACT (No Writing)

Includes reports for you, your high school, and up to four college choices (if valid codes are provided when you register).

SAT – $52.50 Fee Waiver available for those who qualify.  You can register at www.collegeboard.com. You will need to register for the SAT Test or you may sign up for SAT subject tests. Study guides are in my office, as well as paper applications.

Which colleges require the writing section? Call the office of admissions of the college you wish to attend and ask if they require the writing sample. The writing sample is optional on the ACT only.

ONE MORE TEST…

All students applying to a Texas Public Institution must also take a TSI test.  However, you may be exempt from this test if you scored:

TAKS:

Math               2200 minimum

ELA                 2200 minimum

Writing            3 minimum                               OR

STAAR:

English II 4400 for 2014-2015 Juniors

English III level II score (available in Spring 2016)

Algebra II level II score (available in Spring 2016)

SAT:

Combined Score           1070 or above with 

Reading                        500 minimum

Math                             500 minimum  OR

ACT:

Composite              23 or above

English                   19 minimum

Math                      19 minimum

These guidelines are across the State for ALL universities/colleges, including Jr. Colleges, but excluding Private Institutions. If you are unsure whether you qualify for an exemption, come by my office!
